WORLD SPACE WEEK ACTIVITY

Space Foundation Space Education Specialist Elias Molen will present a multi-media presentation, Space and the Bible: Where We Derive Inspiration and Unity; a lecture originally held in conjunction with the Pikes Peak Library District's special display, Manifold Greatness: The History of the King James Bible.

Molen will share pictures, recordings and the little-known history of the Bible and the NASA Space Program, including the unexpected message of inspiration that the Apollo 8 astronauts sent back from the depths of space in their Christmas Eve, 1968 message to Earth. At the time, the broadcast featuring Astronauts William Anders, Frank Borman and James Lovell reading the first 10 verses from the Book of Genesis was the most watched television program ever - and it continues to demonstrate the spiritual nature of space and exploration.
