Wonder in amazement as the heavens come to life with Holst's The Planets, Stravinsky's Fireworks and Gandolfi's The Garden of Cosmic Speculation. Part of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic's Vanguard Performances, the concert is co-sponsored by the Space Foundation, the Colorado Springs Gazette and The Boeing Company. Conducted by Associate Conductor Thomas Wilson, the concert also includes a special cinematic presentation from the Colorado College Film Studies Program.

Stravinsky, Feu d'artifice, Op. 4 (Fireworks)
Gandolfi, The Garden of Cosmic Speculation, Part 1 (2009)
Holst, The Planets, Op. 32

The Colorado Springs Philharmonic will play Mars, The Bringer of War, from The Planets at the opening ceremony of the 28th National Space Symposium.
