COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec. 4, 2002) -- The American Space Showcase, presented by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Space Foundation, will be unveiled at the 2003 Paris Air Show, June 15-22 at Le Bourget, France. The comprehensive display of state-of-the-art exhibits will highlight American space technology. Commerce Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transportation and Machinery Joseph H. Bogosian said, "We are pleased to work with the Space Foundation to create a distinct venue for showcasing the leading technologies and products of a wide variety of American commercial space companies." "The American Space Showcase will provide U.S. space companies with a first-time opportunity to come together at Le Bourget to demonstrate America's leadership in space," said Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer, Elliot Pulham. "Grouping these companies under an "American Space Showcase" banner helps the Air Show's 300,000+ attendees more easily locate the products, services and people involved in the U.S. space industry." The Paris Air Show is one of the world's most prestigious events with nearly 2,000 companies from 41 countries having participated in 2001. The American Space Showcase will cover approximately 10,000 square feet within the official U.S. International Pavilion, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce and organized by Kallman Worldwide of Waldwick, New Jersey. Space News, the official sponsoring publication of the American Space Showcase, will provide marketing support. William A. Klanke, Space News Publisher commented: "A space pavilion is something that exhibitors and attendees want and need. It reflects the fact that space continues to be a growing part of the aerospace business and a space only pavilion is something that will help highlight the significant role that space plays in the industry." Tom Kallman, Kallman Worldwide's Chief Executive Officer said, "We envision a spectacular, informative display and are proud to put our company's four decades of international trade fair experience and familiarity with the Paris Air Show behind this history-making effort."
