Pulham Attends Air Force Civic Leaders Tour of Scott Air Force Base

02/20/2008

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Feb. 20, 2008) -- This week Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Elliot G. Pulham is at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., participating in meetings, briefings, and exercises with the Air Force Civic Leaders group.  In addition to taking part in classified and unclassified briefings on the global war on terror, U.S. Air Force (USAF) acquisition programs, and strategic discussions about the future of the USAF, the civic leaders will experience a demonstration of the capabilities of Air Mobility Command, hosted by Gen. Arthur J. Lichte, USAF, commander, Air Force Mobility Command.

The Air Force Civic Leaders are a hand-picked group of community leaders from across the United States who serve a sounding board for USAF Chief of Staff General T. Michael Moseley and provide feedback to the Air Force on USAF strategic direction, mission, and community relations.  Pulham is a member representing Air Force Space Command (AFSPACE).  In addition to providing input to the Chief of Staff and his team, the Civic Leaders (whose previous meetings have included a visit to AFSPACE in 2007) experience Air Force capabilities first hand - including, for this meeting, participating in an engines-running onload airdrop from a C-17 over Little Rock Air Force Base, air-to-air C-17/KC-135 refueling exercises, and aeromedical evacuation demonstrations.
