Forbes Travel Guide Honors The Broadmoor with Five Star Award for Record 53rd Consecutive Year
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Feb. 26, 2012) - The Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its 55th annual Five Star award list, honoring The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs for a record 53rd consecutive year, making it the only hotel to have earned this distinction since the awards began. The Broadmoor is honored alongside a prestigious list of the very best hotels, restaurants and spas in the travel industry.
Penrose Room restaurant and The Spa at The Broadmoor also each received Forbes Five Star awards for the fourth consecutive years, making The Broadmoor the only triple Five Star winning property in Colorado. This recognition strengthens The Broadmoor's position as a leading luxury destination in the Rocky Mountain region.
"We are honored to be recognized among the Forbes list of the best hotels, restaurants and spas in the world," says The Broadmoor's president and CEO Steve Bartolin. "Forbes serves as a guide for discerning consumers looking for exceptional hospitality and travel experiences and we are thrilled to be among this distinctive group."
A gold standard in travel since 1958, the Five Star ratings process is based on more than 750 standardized criteria for hotels, making it the most rigorous and comprehensive in the industry. The process begins with a facility inspection that considers every aspect of the property, including its overall cleanliness, condition, and location. To achieve Four and Five Star Status, properties must meet or exceed bar-setting service standards that are determined through an unannounced, undercover service evaluation conducted by the Travel Guide's expert inspectors.
