Fairbanks, Alaska, New Horizons - Feb. 13
The Space Foundation conducted a New Horizons education program in Fairbanks, Alaska, coordinated by Teacher Liaison Marci Ward and sponsored by local businesses and the Fairbanks Northstar Borough School District. On Wednesday, Feb. 13, the Space Foundation visited Badger Road and Tikasuk Brown Elementary Schools, spoke to the Chena and Fairbanks Kiwanis Clubs, held a distance learning session with the Yukon Koyukuk School District and held a public forum at the Noel Wien Library. Sponsors are: Pogo Mine (lead), BP, the Chena Kiwanis Club, Denali State Bank, the Fairbanks Economic Development Corp., the Fairbanks Kiwanis Club, Fountainhead Development, Inc., Fort Knox Gold Mine, Overhead Door, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Noel Wien Library, Jeffrey and Kelly Brooks, Gina and Ted Hoppner, Sheila Gwizdak, Faith and Paul Walsh, Judy and Johne Binkley, Mary Binkley and Grace Minder.
