Fairbanks, Alaska, New Horizons - Feb. 14

The Space Foundation conducted a New Horizons education program in Fairbanks, Alaska, coordinated by Teacher Liaison Marci Ward and sponsored by local businesses and the Fairbanks Northstar Borough School District. On Thursday, Feb. 14, the Space Foundation visited the Barnette Magnet School and Denali Elementary School, dropped by the local Boys and Girls Club and attended a sponsior dinner. Plus, astronaut Dr. Leroy Chiao appeared on KFBX Radio with Charlie O'Toole. Sponsors are: Pogo Mine (lead), BP, the Chena Kiwanis Club, Denali State Bank, the Fairbanks Economic Development Corp., the Fairbanks Kiwanis Club, Fountainhead Development, Inc., Fort Knox Gold Mine, Overhead Door, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Noel Wien Library, Jeffrey and Kelly Brooks, Gina and Ted Hoppner, Sheila Gwizdak, Faith and Paul Walsh, Judy and Johne Binkley, Mary Binkley and Grace Minder.
