COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 19, 2013) - Now more than ever, cyber professionals need to meet and discuss crucial issues affecting the global cyber domain. The Honorable Patrick Meehan (R-PA), who serves as the subcommittee chairman of the Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Security Technologies for the House Committee on Homeland Security, will be a featured speaker at the Space Foundation's Cyber 1.3 conference on April 8.
Cyber 1.3 will be held at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo., and is for anyone with responsibility for the cyber domain, whether government policymaker, industry executive or military cyber professional or practitioner at any level.
About Meehan
Meehan represents Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District in the U.S. Congress. Currently serving his second term, Meehan serves on the Oversight and Government Reform, Homeland Security, Transportation and Infrastructure, and House Ethics Committees. As a member of the Homeland Security Committee, Meehan was appointed chairman of the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Security Technologies.
Prior to his election to the U.S. Congress, Meehan served as the U.S. attorney for the eastern district of Pennsylvania.
Sworn in just six days after the September 11, 2001, attacks, Meehan set up an Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council to coordinate the region's response to the attacks. The ATAC became a national model for coordination among law enforcement agencies, and ensured that critical information and intelligence on terrorist threats was disseminated to the appropriate federal, state and local law enforcement personnel.
