COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May. 1, 2009) — Three high-powered speakers have been added to the agenda for Space Business Forum: New York, presented by the Space Foundation in association with Toffler Associates on June 4 at the Hilton New York Hotel in New York City.

Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for Space Programs Gary E. Payton, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Chief Financial Officer Maureen E. Wylie, and Futron Corporation Founder, President and CEO Joe Fuller, Jr., have confirmed their participation in the Forum, which will provide financial analysts, investment bankers, institutional advisors, venture capitalists, insurers, and others from the financial community with the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with space industry leaders.

Space Business Forum: New York participants who register for the event by May 15 will receive a $200 discount and special advance electronic version of the Space Foundation’s The Space Report 2009: The Authoritative Guide to Global Space Activity.

About Payton
As deputy under secretary of the Air Force for space programs, Payton is responsible for the formulation, review and execution of military space programs, including acquisition plans, strategies and assessments for research, development, test, evaluation and space-related industrial base issues. The government acquisition process has a significant impact on the U.S. – and global – space economy and will be a major discussion topic at Space Business Forum: New York.

Payton served more than 23 years in the Air Force, retiring at the rank of colonel. During that time, he had broad and varied responsibilities for space initiatives, including serving as a payload specialist on the Space Shuttle Discovery. He later served as NASA’s deputy associate administrator for space transportation technology, where he initiated, planned and led the Reusable Launch Vehicle technology demonstration program.

About Wylie
Wylie serves as the principal financial manager for NOAA, the government organization responsible for understanding and predicting changes in Earth’s environment.

NOAA provides information on ecosystems, climate, weather, water, and marine commerce and transportation, and, through the National Weather Service, provides weather forecasts and warnings. Wylie is responsible for managing NOAA’s appropriated resources of nearly $4 billion and capital assets of more than $5 billion.

About Fuller
Following a 20-year career with NASA and drawing on his experience with design, development, and operations of human-piloted and robotics spacecraft, Fuller founded Futron Corporation in 1986.

Based in Bethesda, Md., Futron provides risk management, market intelligence, strategic communications and safety-related decision management solutions to the aerospace and telecommunications industries. Fuller’s mission – and the driving force for founding Futron – is to improve the management of aerospace technology. Under Fuller’s leadership, Futron has emerged with a reputation for developing innovative solutions that help managers make high-confidence decisions that result in lower costs and less risk.
