26th National Space Symposium Slated for April 12-15

Planning is well underway for the 26th National Space Symposium, to be held April 12-15, 2010, at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo.  The Space Foundation already has commitments from top-level speakers, including:

• Gen. C. Robert Kehler, USAF, commander, U.S. Space Command, who will discuss his role as the head of the nation's military space programs and his new leadership role for cyberspace
• Gen. Bruce Carlson, USAF, (Retired), director, National Reconnaissance Office
• William F. Ballhaus, Jr., Ph.D., Space Foundation vice chairman and former president and chief executive officer of The Aerospace Corporation
• Ariane Cornell, executive director of the Space Generation Advisory Council

Another agenda highlight is the NRO Directors Forum, which features more than three decades of leadership of the National Reconnaissance Office. Facilitated by Space Foundation Chairman of the Board Gen. Thomas S. Moorman, USAF (Retired), the panel features:

• Hans Mark, Ph.D., under secretary of the Air Force/secretary of the Air Force, 1977-1979
• Edward C. Aldridge, Jr., under secretary of the Air Force/secretary of the Air Force, 1981-1988
• Martin C. Faga, assistant secretary of the Air Force for Space, 1989-1993
• Jeffrey K. Harris, assistant secretary of the Air Force for Space, 1994-1996
• Keith R. Hall, assistant secretary of the Air Force for Space, 1997-2001
• Peter B. Teets, under secretary of the Air Force, 2001-2005
• Donald M. Kerr, Ph.D., assistant to the secretary of the Air Force (Intelligence Space Technology), 2005-2007
• Scott F. Large, assistant to the secretary of the Air Force (Intelligence and Space Technology), 2007-2009

Mark and Teets are also past recipients of the General James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement Award; Mark was recognized in 2008 and Teets in 2009.
