Commander of Air Force Space Command Addresses Space Power Caucus

Commander of Air Force Space Command Addresses Space Power Caucus On February 27, the Space Foundation and the National Defense Industrial Association hosted the first Congressional Space Power Caucus Breakfast of 2008 in Washington, D.C. Gen. C. Robert Kehler, USAF, commander, Air Force Space Command was the featured speaker. Kehler spoke about the increased understanding about the importance of space to the warfighter at all levels. He also addressed the major areas of focus for Air Force Space Command, including stewardship of existing weapons, increasing space situational awareness, growing the space cadre, and improving procurement.

The Congressional Space Power Caucus is a bi-partisan, bi-cameral caucus, which works to promote a greater awareness and understanding about national security space issues. Participants in the breakfast included members of Congress from both sides of the aisle and both houses of Congress, senior national security space military and civilian leaders, key congressional staff, and senior industry representatives.

Kehler will also deliver featured remarks at the 24th National Space Symposium during a dinner honoring Space Foundation corporate members. The symposium is scheduled to take place April 7-10 at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. Additional information is available at www.NationalSpaceSymposium.org.
