Congress to Resume Funding Discussions

Congress is out of session for the month of August, but is returning at the beginning of this month to continue work on many unfinished appropriation bills, including some that fund the Department of Defense, NASA and NOAA.

When Congress returns in September it will take up several appropriation bills, including some that fund NASA, NOAA and the DoD. The Commerce, Justice and Science FY 2012 appropriation bill that funds NASA and NOAA is awaiting a vote by the full House of Representatives. The Senate Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations Subcommittee has yet to produce its FY 2012 appropriations bill. The House has already passed its FY 2012 Department of Defense appropriations bill. Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee has yet to produce its FY 2012 appropriation bill.
