Craig Beal is New Space Foundation Space Education Specialist
The Space Foundation has added Craig Beal to its team of space education specialists. Beal is joining just in time to assist with the Space Foundation's Space Across the Curriculum teacher professional development courses, which begin in Colorado Springs, Colo., the week of June 11.
Most recently, Beal was a math teacher at Liberty High School in Colorado Springs. Previously, he worked as a U.S. Navy diver, where he worked on nuclear powered submarines. He was later commissioned in the U.S. Air Force and, as an intelligence officer, he worked as an instructor of geospatial information systems at Fort Belvoir, Va. Additionally, he worked at Peterson AFB as a targeting chief responsible for worldwide satellite programs, was a chief at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia for time sensitive targeting and was a mathematics instructor at the U.S. Air Force Preparatory School.
Beal has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from East Carolina University and a master's degree in geodetic science from The Ohio State University, Columbus.
Space Foundation education programs are based at the Space Foundation Discovery Institute, which houses a Mars Yard and Robotics Lab, the AGI Space Missions Simulator and NASA Educator Resource Center.
