Space Seminar for CSU-Pueblo Students
Registration is still open for the Space Exploration Seminar, to be held Jan. 23 at Colorado State University - Pueblo (CSU-Pueblo). This event is co-sponsored by the Space Foundation and the CSU-Pueblo Office of Student Activities, with support from the College of Engineering, Education and Professional Studies and the College of Science and Mathematics.
Courses offered during the Space Exploration Seminar are conducted by certified space education specialists from the Space Foundation. The seminar is open and free of charge for CSU-Pueblo students. Advance registration is required and attendees must have a CSU-Pueblo student photo I.D. Teacher Education students earn class credits for each breakout session attended.
Kurzweil Lecture Open to the Public
A presentation by Raymond Kurzweil, one of the leading inventors of our time, will follow the seminar. It is free and open to the public. The Kurzweil lecture begins at 7:05 p.m.
Kurzweil was the principal developer of the first CCD flatbed scanner, the first omni-font optical character recognition system, the first print-to-speech reading machine for the blind, the first text-to-speech synthesizer, the first commercially marketed large-vocabulary speech recognition system and the first music synthesizer capable of recreating the grand piano and other orchestral instruments. He has authored four national bestselling books, including The Singularity is Near and How to Create a Mind, The Secret of Human Thought Revealed.
