Phase II of the Space Foundation Discovery Center is now underway.  Our plans include:

  • Expanding the El Pomar Space Gallery to include new exhibits and showcase many, many more space artifacts.

  • Creating a state-of-the-art interactive teaching auditorium for both onsite and distance-learning enhancements to our already-extensive Space Foundation education programs.

  • Installing a J-2 liquid-fuel cryogenic rocket engine used on NASA's Saturn IB and Saturn V launch vehicles.

  • Refurbishing of the Scott Carpenter Station, an underwater habitat.

  • Construction of the Space Technology Hall of Fame®, allowing visitors to experience the profound impact space technology has on our everyday lives, as well as honoring the individuals who discovered and developed these amazing innovations. The physical space will complement the virtual Space Technology Hall of Fame that the Space Foundation has sponsored since 1988.

Of course, none of what we have today could be possible without our generous supporters - and nothing we create tomorrow will happen without the investment of our donors and champions across the U.S.
