ITAR and the U.S. Space Industry


As part of its mission to address issues of importance to the space industry, the Space Foundation conducted research on the impact of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As of the time of publication in late 2008, ITAR was found to be harmful to the U.S. space industrial base. This was particularly the case for lower-level suppliers, companies that drive a significant amount of the innovation and technological advances on which the industry relies for growth.
