Space Foundation Accepting Applications for 2008 Teacher Liaisons

Written by: Space Foundation Editorial Team

The Space Foundation is currently accepting applications for the 2008 Flight of Teacher Liaisons. The highly-regarded Teacher Liaison program, now in its fifth year, selects teachers who actively promote space and science education in the classroom and the community. The teachers who are chosen for this honor serve as advocates for space science education, and conduits into their classrooms, schools, and districts.

Teacher Liaisons are selected by a panel consisting of an industry expert, Teacher Liaison alumni, current Teacher Liaison, member of the military, and a Space Foundation representative. All educators who desire to further integrate space and science education into their curriculum are eligible to apply for this program. Those selected as liaisons transition to alumni status after a one-year term.

The deadline for 2008 Teacher Liaison applications is February 1, 2008. Applications and more information are available online at www.SpaceFoundation.org/education or by calling (800) 691-4000.
