New Space-Based Product Keeps Body Hydrated

Written by: developer

New Space-Based Product Keeps Body Hydrated In yet another example of the ways space inventions make life on Earth better, a Boulder, Colo., firm has launched a rehydration product that helps prevent loss of body fluids during heavy exercise, heat exposure and illness.

Originally developed by NASA Ames Research Center to keep astronauts at peak performance during missions, the electrolyte concentrate formula maintains and restores optimal body hydration levels quickly and conveniently. Ames has licensed the patented formula to Wellness Brands Inc., Boulder, Colo., which is marketing the formula under the name “The Right Stuff.” The initial market focus is endurance and elite athletes, but Wellness Brands anticipates that “The Right Stuff” can later be expanded to treat dehydration caused by amateur sports and exercise, altitude sickness and jetlag.
