Space Foundation Presents at UNCOPUOS

The 55th session of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNCOPUOS) was held in early June at the United Nations Office at Vienna, Vienna International Center, Vienna, Austria. Space Foundation Senior Vice President – Strategic & International Affairs Steve Eisenhart gave one of the technical presentations. He spoke about the support of UNCOPUOS objectives through a variety of activities regarding space education, space applications for societal benefit and “new generation” initiatives at the Space Foundation’s 28th National Space Symposium in April. During his presentation, he highlighted Symposium participation by COPUOS chairmen Dr. Dumitru-Dorin Prunariu and Dr. Yasushi Horikawa.
Eisenhart met with Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) leadership regarding the 2013 SGAC Fusion Fourm. The Space Foundation hosted the first Fusion Forum at the 28th National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Also at UNCOPUOS, the Space Foundation co-hosted with the U.S. State Department a reception for the delegates and staff of the Office of Outer Space Affairs.
