In December, the Space Foundation was presented a 2015 Award for Excellence by El Pomar Foundation and the Awards for Excellence Nomination Review Committee. The recognition included a $25,000 grant that will go toward Space Foundation STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education outreach at its Discovery Center in Colorado Springs.

In her acceptance comments, Space Foundation Chief Operating Officer Shelli Brunswick said, “We are proud to have been headquartered here in Colorado Springs for more than 30 years, and we take our role in this community very seriously. We honor our mission to help build the next generation of community leaders by improving students’ skills in STEM subjects. Your support of the Space Foundation supports that mission.”

Also receiving an Award for Excellence the same evening was YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region. The Space Foundation extends its congratulations to the YMCA for its exemplary work.
