Space Foundation Discovery Center Launches “Holiday Space Bash” Dec. 21, Benefitting Wounded Warrior Project

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec. 17, 2019) – Offering a family-friendly alternative to more traditional holiday events, the Space Foundation Discovery Center is throwing a Holiday Space Bash to send out 2019 with a big bang. This bundle of holiday-themed attractions opens at 10:00 a.m. on Dec. 21, providing an out-of-this-world event perfectly timed for families to enjoy with their children on break from school.
Count down to St. Nick’s arrival with NORAD Tracks Santa, who will be in the Discovery Center from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., using space technology to track Santa’s progress as he gears up to deliver gifts around the globe.
Admission also includes these activities throughout the day:
- 3D printing workshop: Make a holiday decoration (10:30 a.m. to noon)
- Ugly holiday/geeky science sweater social media contest
- Science On a Sphere® presentation: Reviewing the Year in Space
- Hands-on activities and exhibits for the entire family
- Virtual Reality Laboratory: Experience VR
- Mars Robotics Laboratory: Rover races
The Discovery Center Store will also be open so last-minute shoppers can pick up unique gifts and stocking stuffers.
