COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 12, 2018) – Since 2011, the Space Foundation’s International Student Art Contest has inspired thousands of children around the globe to envision the possibilities and adventures to be found in space. However, for 2019, the art contest almost ended. In spite of participation by 4,578 children in 57 countries this year, a lack of sponsorship nearly killed plans for the contest to continue in 2019. But at the eleventh hour, Austin-based Firefly Aerospace stepped in to sponsor the art contest for 2019. Read more »

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 17, 2019) - The Space Foundation has selected 27 outstanding educators to join its Teacher Liaison program in 2019, including six international applicants from India and Ethiopia. The educators were chosen for their active promotion of space and science education in the classroom. Started by the Space Foundation in 2004, the Teacher Liaison program influences space and science education at an international level. Teacher Liaisons serve as advocates for space-themed education and use Space Foundation-provided training and resources to further integrate space principles into the classroom. Read more »

Space Foundation Announces Changes to its Board of Directors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 29, 2018) – The Board of Directors of the Space Foundation met on Oct. 25 and approved the following changes to its Board, effective Oct. 25. Jeffrey D. Grant, Former Sector Vice President and General Manager, Space Systems, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (Ret.), was elected to the Executive Committee as Member-at-Large. Lon C. COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 8, 2018) – The Space Foundation is now accepting abstracts for papers to be presented at the Tech Track of the 35th Space Symposium. Much like the main Symposium program, Tech Track will include featured speakers and a series of 20-minute "tech talk" presentations selected from a wide variety of submissions. The Tech Track sessions offer registrants an opportunity to hear from government and industry leaders in space technology development. Read more »
