Senior Vice President, Center for Innovation & Education

Dr. John West, Senior Vice President for Space Foundation’s Center for Innovation and Education (CI&E), is responsible for the development and execution of innovative K-12 and adult business programming that inspires and informs the next generation of space leaders. John has greatly expanded Space Foundation’s impact by consistently fostering local, national, and international strategic partnerships. John also provides leadership over Space Foundation Discovery Center (SFDC) which is the region’s only dedicated space, science, and technology center and museum.

Dr. West brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from an illustrious 29-year career in education. Prior to joining Space Foundation, John held high-level educational leadership positions including serving as a K-12 principal at the Colorado Springs Christian Schools’ Woodland Park campus. He was also a Dean in the College of Social Sciences at University of Phoenix, as well as Dean and Associate Professor at Divine Mercy University. He currently serves on the Board of CSCS. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Theology from Baptist Bible College, a Master of Counseling from University of Phoenix, and a PhD in Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. John is also a published author and a licensed professional counselor.
