Earth from Space: Take a Look at our Home Planet

A new PBS NOVA TV special offers a revealing look at Planet Earth thanks to an armada of space-based assets.

Earth from Space has been produced in extensive consultation with NASA scientists, making extensive use of data gleaned by Earth-observing satellites

This unique NOVA production showcases the astonishing beauty and complexity of our dynamic planet.

Taking part in this eye-catching video: Waleed Abdalati, NASA Chief Scientist, David Adamec, NASA Scientist , Carl Feldman, NASA Oceanographer, Holly Gilbert, NASA Solar Physicist and Piers Sellers of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Viewers can witness how dust blown from the Sahara fertilizes the Amazon; how a vast submarine “waterfall” off Antarctica helps drive ocean currents around the world; and how the Sun’s heating up of the southern Atlantic gives birth to a colossally powerful hurricane.
