Art Contest Winners Meet Dr. Leroy Chiao at Space Symposium


The Space Foundation welcomed four winners of its 2014 International Student Art Contest to the 30th Space Symposium at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs May 21.

More than 7,100 entries were received for this year's contest, representing 54 countries, including 43 U.S. states and two U.S. territories. The 2014 theme was "My Spaceship Looks Like..."

The winning students have the opportunity to see their artwork on display in the Symposium's Boeing Exhibit Center Pavilion, and meet and speak with NASA astronaut Dr. Leroy Chiao, Space Foundation Special Advisor - Human Spaceflight.

Winners attending the May 21 reception included these students and their families:

  • Tiffany Chen, Mich.
  • Armeen Binte Jafry, Bangladesh
  • Vivian Liu, Calif.
  • Cole Lydston, Wash.
