About the Space Foundation Connection with Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy
The Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy is a public middle school created in 2009 through a partnership between the Space Foundation and Colorado Springs School District 11. It is named in honor of Colorado native and astronaut John L. "Jack" Swigert. The Academy uses space themes and principles to teach a broad range of subjects, with focus on improving students' proficiency in science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM).
