Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Features NASA | ART: 50 Years of Exploration

Space Art is Coming; Truly is Speaking The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center will present NASA | ART: 50 Years of Exploration, Dec. 19 - March 7, organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in cooperation with the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.

In addition to 73 works of art, including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculpture, and other art forms and media, the Honorable Richard H. Truly, an astronaut, former commander of the Space Shuttle Challenger, and Life Director of the Space Foundation, will be the featured speaker on Jan. 16.

NASA | ART represents nearly five decades of works by artists as diverse as Norman Rockwell, Andy Warhol, Annie Leibovitz, Nam June Paik, and William Wegman. The exhibition will also have a film series, including Forbidden Planet, Deep Space Homer, and 2001: A Space Odyssey, and lectures, music, and classes.
