Margo Hatton Joins Team to Support STEM Initiatives

Space Foundation Adds Education Partnership Manager The Space Foundation has hired Margo Hatton as the manager, development and education partnerships. She is responsible for fundraising to support the Space Foundation’s science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education programs. Her responsibilities also include global outreach to education entities including K-12 school districts as well as universities, community colleges, and civic organizations.

Prior to joining the Space Foundation team, Hatton was the development director for an urban redevelopment project in southern Colorado. During her six year tenure there she raised $6.6 million to transform urban blight into a mixed-use retail, residential, and recreation development. In addition, she developed a curriculum guide and education program for the project utilizing local and national history to further the goals of the organization.

Hatton began her career in museum administration and continued as a teacher, conservation assistant, and fundraiser. She has more than 10 years in the non-profit arena, developing fundraising plans and educational programming for a wide variety of entities. Passionate about education as an avenue for personal development as well as community economic development, Hatton has served on the Colorado Model and Content Review Committee, the Pueblo (Colo.) City Schools Strategic Planning Committee, the State of Colorado Governor’s Task Force on Community Service, and the Michigan Art in Motion advisory board. Hatton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history/museum administration from Principia College, Elsah, Ill.
