Space Foundation Launches Stomp Rockets for Space Day

More than 800 people visited the Space Foundation booth at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum Space Day in March, taking advantage of the opportunity to make and launch stomp rockets.

The event stemmed from a partnership between the Space Foundation and the Pioneers Museum to celebrate a traveling exhibit currently on display from the Charles M. Schulz Museum called To the Moon: Snoopy Soars with NASA. The exhibition, which runs through April 20 at the Pioneers Museum, examines the history of Apollo 10 and the role characters from Schulz's popular Peanuts comic strip played in that flight and in the NASA Manned Flight Awareness safety program.

The outreach was headed by Space Foundation Manager - Community Relations & Protocol Kaye Kerr.

"The Space Foundation was proud to help families spend time together while learning about the history of human spaceflight," said Kerr.
