Teachers: Plan Now for Professional Development in Colorado Springs This Summer

Registration is Open for Space Foundation Space Across the Curriculum Courses

Educators who want to improve their classroom skills and better motivate their students may sign up now for Space Foundation Space Across the Curriculum teacher professional development summer courses.

The courses are held at the Space Foundation Discovery Institute in Colorado Springs, Colo., and cover topics including rocketry, meteorology, robotics, astronomy and living and working in space, and are designed to help teachers use space themes in their classrooms to improve student performance in literacy, science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and other subject areas.

These week-long, intensive, graduate-level courses provide pre-K-12 educators with space-related STEM education knowledge and content that is instantly transferable to the classroom.

The Space Foundation also offers Space Across the Curriculum courses in Maryland through a partnership with Charles County Public Schools and in Pueblo, Colo., in conjuction with Colorado State University - Pueblo. Look for more details in future issues of Space Watch.
