Daytona Space Commerce meeting
Senator Tom Wright (R - Dist. 14) attended today's Space Foundation Space Commerce Workshop in Daytona Beach, Fla. Partnering with the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), the Space Foundation is presenting the one-day workshops for minority business* leaders and other aspiring space industry entrepreneurs. Each workshop session addresses the most common challenges companies face as they enter the marketplace. (Feb. 21, 2019) - Jill Gilford, an Earth and Space Science Teacher at Twin Lakes High School in Monticello, Ind., has been selected to receive the 2019 Alan Shepard Technology in Education Award. The annual award is presented jointly by the Space Foundation, the Astronauts Memorial Foundation (AMF), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), in recognition of creative and innovative use of technology by K-12 educators, or district-level education personnel. COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Feb. 14, 2019) – Launched in 2007 and managed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), the Dawn mission space probe ended its mission on Oct. 31, 2018, after successfully completing its mission to orbit giant asteroid Vesta and dwarf planet Ceres, revealing important information about the formation of the solar system.
