Education Programs
The Space Foundation supports teachers and PreK-20 students using standards-based curriculum that uses space principles to integrate science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) into all content areas. Research indicates that space exploration and development are the most powerful subjects teachers can introduce to engage their students, motivate them to learn and help them retain what they have learned. Our programs meet education standards by integrating STEM into daily curriculum and are instantly transferrable to the classroom.
Much of our focus is on educators because we believe that investing in teachers significantly increases student achievement and increases the opportunity for success in all areas. We do this by using space themes and principles to help educators explain complex topics and inspire students to learn. Teachers play a critical role in inspiring, enabling and propeling humanity and make a powerful impact on students.
Some of our programs are delivered directly to students, in both classroom and after-school settings. We offer customized programs that teach and reinforce standards-based classroom activities. Our student programs, whether delivered directly or through teachers, are hands-on.
We also work with communities, integrating classroom teaching with town hall meetings, public forums and parent/child programs.
