DEADLINE for applications for FLIGHT 9-12: Friday, December 14, 2012.
Do you have what it takes to be a Space Foundation Teacher Liaison? Become one of the select few educators from across the nation who will be chosen as a Space Foundation Teacher Liaison.
This is the eighth year of this prestigious, nationally recognized program, which provides an honored few numerous benefits and privileges that help teachers grow their teaching skills, strengthen their resume, and influence space and science education at a national level.
The Space Foundation will select the new flight of Teacher Liaisons in January 2013.
Those eligible to be Teacher Liaisons include any PreK-20 educator or other professional or informal educator in the PreK-20 arena. Teacher Liaisons tend to be Master Teachers who want to inspire the next generation of students to pursue and excel in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Teacher Liaisons do not need to be science or math teachers; they need only to have a desire to integrate space education within their curriculum.
Apply now to become a Space Foundation Teacher Liaison and become one of the specially recognized teachers who helps improve and shape space and science education!
Space Foundation Teacher Liaisons serve as active links between the Space Foundation, NASA, and their schools and school districts. This influential role includes numerous benefits, privileges, and activities such as special recognition during the 28th National Space Symposium, held at the five-star Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado, April 2-5, 2012.
NOTE: Once accepted into the program, a one-year probationary period is mandatory to fulfill required duties and responsibilities. A Teacher Liaison leadership committee will review each probationary member's activities during that year to determine full acceptance.
