Strategic Space 2004 set for Omaha Qwest Center

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Aug. 23, 2004) — Top military leaders, government officials, and executives from throughout the space industry will soon meet in Omaha to discuss the programs, policies and issues affecting our strategic forces at the Strategic Space conference. Strategic Space 2004 is scheduled 5-7 October at the Qwest Center Omaha Convention Center and Arena. “Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s inaugural Strategic Space Conference, we knew we needed room to expand,” said Elliot G. Pulham, Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer. “The spectacular new Qwest Center Omaha gave us the opportunity to add exhibits and offered more space for sessions, corporate meeting rooms and networking events.” The Qwest Convention Center is connected via a skywalk to the 450-room Hilton Hotel. The facility is located 2.5 miles from the airport, within walking distance to downtown hotels and Omaha’s Old Market shopping and entertainment district. A crowd of more than 1,000 is expected to attend the three-day event, featuring a gala opening ceremony, a sold-out exhibit center, an expanded interactive program addressing the full spectrum of the missions of United States Strategic Command, and a strong slate of speakers and panelists. Strategic Space 2004 is presented in support of United States Strategic Command by the Space Foundation and Space News. The conference is designed to further the relationship between senior leadership of the Command, component and supported commands, the aerospace contractor community, federal officials and other leaders.
