Washington, D.C., leaders come to Omaha for Strategic Space and Defense 2006

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sep. 28, 2006) — The participation at Strategic Space and Defense 2006 of two congressmen, congressional staff members, and national security space leaders will bring a strong Washington, D.C., presence to the conference. The Space Foundation and Space News present the conference October 10-12, 2006, at the Qwest Center Omaha Convention Center and Arena to address both the space-related and strategic missions of the U.S. Strategic Command. The Honorable Terry Everett, chairman, Strategic Forces Subcommittee, House Armed Services Committee, United States House of Representatives, is the keynote luncheon speaker Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 12:15 p.m. Recently confirming their participation are The Honorable Lee Terry, United States House of Representatives, and Mr. Mark Haaland, professional staff member, Senate Appropriations Committee. Rep. Terry will give opening remarks Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 8:30 a.m. Haaland will participate on the panel “Operational Impact – Programs, Budgets and Capitol Hill” with Dr. Rob Soofer, professional staff member, Senate Armed Services Committee, and Mr. Josh Hartman, professional staff member, Committee on Appropriations, United States House of Representatives. Mr. Bill Adkins, president, Adkins Strategies, LLC, will moderate. Several congressional staff members also will be attending and participating. Addressing national security space issues from a D.C. perspective are The Honorable Dr. Ronald M. Sega, under secretary of the Air Force, and RADM Victor C.
