COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Aug. 23, 2007) — Limited space remains for exhibitors at Strategic Space and Defense 2007.  This year’s event already features more than 10,000 square feet of exhibit space and more than 40 exhibiting companies and organizations.  Presented by the Space Foundation and Space News, Strategic Space and Defense 2007, the global security conference for space and defense professionals, will take place at the Qwest Center Omaha Convention Center in Omaha, Neb., 9 — 11 October 2007.

“We are pleased about the strong participation by companies, large and small, as well as key government agencies in the
space and defense sectors,” said Space Foundation Chief Operating Officer Chuck Zimkas.  “The exhibit center serves as an ideal complement to our outstanding program, showcasing and demonstrating the most advanced space and defense technologies.”

The Strategic Space and Defense 2007 exhibit center is shaping up to be the largest in the history of this definitive global security conference for space and defense professionals. Participating organizations include the largest U.S. defense contractors; government and military organizations including U.S. Strategic Command, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, U.S. Air Force Space Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS), and the Reagan Test Site at Kwajalein; small to mid-sized companies and more.

In addition to the sophisticated exhibit center, Strategic Space and Defense 2007 will feature a stellar program with speakers and panelists who are leaders in the space and defense industries.  They will address pertinent and timely topics including the command of the future, Joint Functional Component Commands (JFCCs) and mission integration,
space situational awareness, global strike, operationally responsive space, missile defense, and international perspectives including integrating global space operations.

Attendees include the senior leadership of U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), its component and supported commands, representatives of the national security industrial base, major government contractors, federal officials, and allied partners.  This unique conference includes two full days of featured speakers and panel sessions, luncheons, an exhibit center, and more.

Other highlights of Strategic Space and Defense 2007 include a spectacular Opening Ceremony and Opening Reception, co-sponsored by Lockheed Martin and the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce; the Strategic Space and Defense luncheon, co-sponsored by Northrop Grumman; and the Thursday luncheon, co-sponsored by Boeing.  Additional co-sponsors include AirLaunch LLC, ATK, Booz Allen Hamilton, the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), and Raytheon Company.
