Steve Cook to Speak on National Space Symposium Panel; Dynetics to Co-sponsor Next Generation Event

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., (April 13, 2015) — Steve Cook, vice president of corporate development for Dynetics, will participate in the “Prospects and Issues for Small Business” panel here Wednesday at the National Space Symposium (NSS). The company will also sponsor “New Gen View of Space – Open Mic Night for New Generation Space Leaders” at the Broadmoor Golf Club tomorrow evening. Bill Nye, executive director for The Planetary Society, will serve as emcee.

Cook, who will share insights on leveraging partnerships and growth for small businesses, joined Dynetics in 2009 as director of space technologies. In this role, he led the company’s efforts in launch systems, orbital spacecraft and analysis, planetary exploration and nanotechnology until 2013, when he became director of corporate development. He was promoted to vice president in 2014.

From 2005 until 2009, Cook served as manager of the Ares Projects Office at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, where he was responsible for overall project management and direction of NASA’s Ares I and V launch vehicles. Prior to this position, he served as deputy manager of Marshall’s Space Transportation Programs and Projects Office, planning and directing research, technology and development activities for future generations of space transportation and advanced propulsion systems for more ambitious scientific exploration missions of the solar system.
