a.i. solutions Awarded 9.5 Year Contract to Support NASA and Air Force Launch Operations

LANHAM, Md. (Dec. 12, 2016) – a.i. solutions today announced it has been awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with a potential value of $387.6M over 9.5 years to support NASA’s Launch Services Program (LSP). The contract, known as Expendable Launch Vehicle Integrated Support 3 (ELVIS 3), will provide end-to-end launch services for NASA and NASA-sponsored payloads on commercial expendable launch vehicles.

Work on the contract will be based at Kennedy Space Center in Florida and will include activities at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and other sites where the U.S. government launches satellites and other spacecraft.

Under the contract the a.i. solutions team will provide launch vehicle systems engineering and mission analysis; launch site engineering support for mission planning, as well as launch vehicle and spacecraft ground processing activities; safety, reliability, and quality engineering activities; communication engineering support, with operations and maintenance of NASA LSP’s communication and telemetry systems; technical integration services, information technology services, special studies, and other services as tasked; support LSP launch operations; and support NASA facility maintenance at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
