What is National Space Day?
National Space Day, led by Space Workforce for Tomorrow, is a nationwide celebration of innovation, exploration, and U.S. space achievements.
National Space Day exists to honor the people, missions, and breakthroughs that have shaped the United States’ role in space exploration. From the Apollo program to the commercial space era, these achievements belong to all of us.
NSD is built for families, educators, and communities who want to celebrate together. Whether you are watching at home, leading a classroom activity, or hosting a community event, National Space Day makes it easy to participate and feel connected to something bigger.
Educators can use the premiere as a classroom moment with discussion questions and hands-on activities. Community organizations can host watch parties or full events using the free host toolkit. And families can simply tune in together to learn and be inspired.
The goal is simple: inspire young people to see themselves in space careers and STEM fields, and give communities a reason to come together around exploration and discovery.
