Space Foundation to Honor The Petit Family Foundation with Athena Education Award

WHAT: Space Foundation will present its Athena Education Award to The Petit Family Foundation for its longstanding investment in educational programs that expand access to STEM learning and connect students and educators with opportunities in the global space economy.  

WHY: Established in 2021, the Athena Education Award recognizes a steadfast partner whose leadership, commitment and support advance Space Foundation’s global education mission. The Petit Family Foundation’s generous support has enabled school districts across Connecticut to expand STEM learning through unique and engaging opportunities. To date, that support has reached more than 10,000 students, educators, and families.

• 6:15 p.m. — Presentation by former NASA astronaut Winston Scott
