Eric Coleman

Eric Coleman is the Chief Engineer and Senior Director for the Space Systems Sector of the Space and Mission Systems (SMS) segment of L3Harris Technologies. SMS provides advanced ISR, secure networks, open-architecture platforms, and end-to-end space capabilities to enable national security and mission success.
Coleman assumed the position of Senior Director and Chief Engineer of Space Systems in 2025, reporting to the President of Space Systems. In this role, he is responsible for the engineering execution of Space solutions and workforce development serving over 3,000 engineers.
Previously, he served as Senior Director of Software and Image Science. In this role, he was responsible for workforce engagement, training and development, and program execution for embedded software, application software, and image science, serving over 1,800 engineers.
Prior, he held the position Director of System and Software Engineering for the Communications Systems (CS) segment of L3Harris. Responsibilities included segment functional leadership for Systems and Software Engineering, as well as advanced concept engineering for Air Force related technology.
In his time at L3Harris, he has also held chief engineer, director, and technical leadership roles within the areas of Software and Systems Engineering in the CS and Aviation Systems segments.
Coleman serves on Purdue University’s Semiconductor Degrees Leadership Board as well as the Computer Science Corporate Partner Advisory Board.
He is a member of the Association of Old Crows and RTCA with involvement in multiple special committees.
Coleman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Ohio Northern University and a Master of Business Administration from Wright State University.
