COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jun. 28, 2006) — Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Elliot G. Pulham made the following statement in response to last evening’s successful Delta 4 launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif: “Air Force Space Command has delivered again – an historic 45 consecutive successful launches. The Space Foundation congratulates the men and women of Air Force Space Command on their record-breaking work. Not only have the past 45 launches in a row all been successful, but 100 percent of the previous payloads delivered in this success streak are functioning at, or above, design specifications. Tonight’s Delta 4 launch – a combined effort of the Air Force, The Boeing Company, the Aerospace Corporation and many, many others – continues a tradition of leadership in space unrivaled by any other space organization in the world.” The launch at 8:33 p.m. PDT June 27 from Space Launch Complex-6 at Vandenberg Air Force Base was the first Delta 4 to launch from the West Coast.
