Space Foundation Launches First Space Foundation Correspondent’s GroupCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sep. 27, 2007) — The Space Foundation’s Washington, D.C. office hosted its first Space Foundation Correspondent’s Group on September 27, 2007, with NASA Deputy Administrator Shana Dale as the featured guest.  Washington D.C. based reporters from media outlets including large national newspapers, newswires, and trade press participated in this inaugural event.  Following opening remarks by Dale, attendees asked questions about a variety of issues facing NASA today. Topics of discussion included the NASA budget and continuing resolution impacts; international cooperation and lunar exploration; science program funding; new mars rover pictures; use of robots on the moon; private ventures into space and how NASA views them; NASA’s 50th anniversary year of events; and more.

This was the first, in what will be a regular series of gatherings for D.C. based reporters to spend time with leaders from across the space industry.
