Top Companies Participate in Strategic Space Symposium as SponsorsCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sep. 22, 2009) — Many of the nation’s top aerospace providers are taking advantage of an extraordinary opportunity to hear from and network with top military, government, and space leaders by serving as co-sponsors at the Strategic Space Symposium Nov. 2-4 at the Qwest Center Omaha in Omaha, Neb.

Presented through a Space Foundation/United States Strategic Command partnership and themed Advancing Space Capabilities and Strengthening Operations to Promote Global Security, the Symposium will foster innovation and collaboration between the private sector and government on space operations and warfighter issues.

Event co-sponsors include exclusive media partner Space News, the only weekly publication fully dedicated to covering all aspects of the space industry – commercial, military, and civil. Onsite in Omaha, Space News will produce a special “Show Daily” to keep Strategic Space Symposium attendees informed about Symposium activities, events, and program content.

Additional Space Foundation co-sponsors include Analytical Graphics, Inc., ATK, AVIATION WEEK, the Bellevue (Nebraska) Chamber of Commerce, Boeing, CISCO, CSC, CSP Associates, Defense Systems, Integral Systems, Inc., Intelsat, ManTech, and SpaceX.

“Our sponsors create an environment that enhances the experience for all attendees – from sharing the latest space technologies to providing easy access to business services to creating an extraordinary opportunity to get involved in the strategic direction the military will be taking with the vital space programs that support global warfighting operations,” said Space Foundation Chief Executive Officer Elliot Pulham. “Plus, sponsors increase their visibility, name recognition, and brand awareness among an audience of exceptionally high-level decision makers.”

The Symposium agenda features perspectives from senior leaders from the Department of Defense, U.S. and allied government, industry, and academia, as well as workshops to explore and discuss:

  • Space situational awareness, defense of space, and protection of assets;
  • Current space policy and shaping future policies;
  • Warfighting needs;
  • Capability gaps in space technologies;
  • Best practices, cutting edge technologies, and emerging space capabilities

The informal but highly focused setting facilitates discussion and debate with senior leaders from the Pentagon, combatant commands, joint functional and service components, government groups, industry, and the international military space community.

“We’re looking forward to the many opportunities the Strategic Space Symposium offers: contact with our biggest customers, a chance to showcase our newest capabilities, and plenty of opportunities to have in-depth discussions with industry and government leaders,” said Tip Osterthaler, president and CEO of AMERICOM Government Services, which is sponsoring the Exhibit Center.

The Strategic Space Symposium military/government rate is $395 and the industry rate is only $595. Both include general, track and breakout sessions, breakfasts, luncheons, presentations, and access to the AMERICOM Government Services Exhibit Center.
