Strategic Space Symposium Kicks Off TodayCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 2, 2009) — The Strategic Space Symposium starts today and runs through Nov. 4 at the Qwest Center Omaha in Omaha, Neb., with more than 1,800 attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors. Presented through a Space Foundation/United States Strategic Command partnership, the Strategic Space Symposium will encourage collaboration, conversation, and creative interchange between the private sector and the government on challenging space operations and warfighter issues. The speakers include high-level U.S. government and military leaders from the U.S. Strategic Command, the National Reconnaissance Office, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the Department of Defense, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Army, DARPA, Joint Functional Component Commands, the European, Northern, Southern and Special Operations Commands, and the Space Foundation.

The Symposium also features international military leaders from Australia, Canada, France, Israel, Japan, the United Kingdom, and NATO, and industry leaders from The Aerospace Corporation, AMERICOM Government Services, GeoEye, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Orbital Sciences, and Raytheon.

About USSTRATCOM
Located at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Neb., U.S. Strategic Command is one of ten unified commands in the Department of Defense.
