Elliot Pulham Testifies Before the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and TransportationCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May. 19, 2011) — On May 18, Space Foundation Chief Executive Officer Elliot Pulham testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation on the importance of a robust space program (the official topic of the hearing is THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF SPACE TO NATIONAL IMPERATIVES).

The Colorado Springs-based Space Foundation is the foremost advocate for the space industry. A global, nonprofit leader in space awareness, space-themed STEM educational programs, major industry events (including the recent National Space Symposium) and space information and analysis, including The Space Report: The Authoritative Guide to Global Space Activity, the Space Foundation is often called upon to present unbiased, third-party information and opinions on space initiatives and policies.

Pulham, who has been CEO of the Space Foundation since 2001, frequently speaks about space policy. He is a recipient of the Rotary National Awards for Space Achievement Foundation Space Communicator Award, an honor he shares with the late legendary CBS News Anchor Walter Cronkite and former CNN News Anchor Miles O’Brien. He is a member of the national board of advisors of the RNASA Foundation and a member of the board of advisors of the National Institute for Space & Security Centers (NISSC). He is a former Air Force Civic Leader and advisor to the Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Air Force and a recipient of the U.S. Air Force Distinguished Public Service Medal.
