Gina Taranto Joins Space Foundation as Director of Development

The Space Foundation welcomes a new director of development. Gina Taranto, CFRE, has 20 years of experience in development and fundraising, and has significant experience in all types of fundraising strategies, including grants, events, direct mail, major gifts and planned giving. She is based at Space Foundation World Headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Colorado College, Taranto joined El Pomar Foundation in Colorado Springs in 1993 as a program associate in what is now known as the El Pomar Fellowship Program.
Taranto has worked with several notable charitable foundations, including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, University of Colorado Foundation and, most recently, with Colorado College.
She is involved as a volunteer with a number of organizations, currently including a board member and speaker of the Association of Fundraising Professionals; chair of the board of the Center for Nonprofit Excellence; and a member, speaker and past president of the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
