Three Space Foundation representatives, CEO Elliot Pulham, Senior Vice President – Strategic & International Affairs Steve Eisenhart and Research Analyst G. Ryan Faith participated in the 64th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Beijing, China, last month. They also took part in the 12th Annual Space Generation Congress (SGC), a three-day pre-conference event geared toward young space professionals and students.

Organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), the annual IAC event includes plenary sessions, lectures, meetings and a large exhibition. It is attended by members of the world’s space agencies along with academics, researchers, industry and commerce executives, students and young professionals.

Space Foundation representatives were kept busy with the presentation of two technical papers and a private banquet held in the Space Foundation’s honor, hosted by the Chinese Society of Astronautics. The Space Foundation also co-hosted a reception with the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) to promote the annual Space Symposium and the Fusion Forum. Pulham also made brief remarks during the general meeting of the International Astronautical Federation – where both IAF president Higuchi and CNES director general Le Gall referenced the Space Symposium as a crucial part of IAF’s international strategy going forward.

SGC is organized by SGAC, a global non-governmental organization that represents university students and young space professionals to the United Nations, space agencies, industry and academia. At the SGC, Pulham delivered a presentation on Space Foundation New Generation programs, and Eisenhart participated in several of the SGAC working groups in his capacity as an SGAC board member.
