Meet Journalist Lynn Sherr at the Discovery Center for Free Sally Ride Night

On July 23, the Discovery Center will host a free evening presentation and book signing with veteran ABC News and 20/20 reporter Lynn Sherr, author of Sally Ride: America’s First Woman in Space. now a New York Times Best Seller. This definitive biography examines both the public and private life of Dr. Sally Ride, including exclusive insights from Ride’s family and partner.

Sherr has covered a wide range of stories, specializing in women’s issues and social change, as well as investigative reports. She has received numerous awards, including an Emmy, two American Women in Radio and Television Commendation awards, a Gracie Award, and a George Foster Peabody Award. Sherr was a national correspondent for ABC News and reported on the NASA Space Shuttle program from its inception in 1981 through the Challenger explosion in 1986, anchoring almost every mission from launch to landing.
