Partnership with PPCM Brings Super Kids Save the World Exhibit to Discovery Center June 1
Written by: developer
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 23, 2016) – Early in 2015, the Space Foundation Discovery Center formed a partnership with the Pikes Peak Children’s Museum (PPCM) to bring world-class children’s museum experiences to Pikes Peak region families and visitors.
Last fall, the new partnership brought the Clifford the Big Red Dog™ traveling exhibit to the Space Foundation Discovery Center in Colorado Springs. Now this summer, PPCM and the Space Foundation will bring a second traveling exhibit to the Discovery Center — Super Kids Save the World, presented locally by PPCM.
This exhibit is based on the British children’s book, George Saves the World by Lunchtime, written by Jo Readman and illustrated by Ley Honor Roberts. The book was developed by the Eden Project, an educational charity located in Cornwall, England, dedicated to showing the importance of taking care of our world. George Saves the World by Lunchtime features an ordinary family, who in the course of their day, save the world simply by making responsible choices. George, Flora and Grandpa demonstrate that by taking simple steps, families can become eco-friendly superheroes in their own communities. This interactive exhibit is designed for children ages two through 10 years.
Visit the Super Kids Save the World exhibit at the Discovery Center June 1 through Sept. 10, 2016.

About Pikes Peak Children’s Museum
Colorado Springs is one of the largest cities in the U.S. without a children’s museum. The city — in a region with more than 700,000 residents — has long been a prime candidate for a children’s museum. Given the region’s need for such a facility, the Pikes Peak Children’s Museum will be an indispensable resource for children, families, elementary-level educators and the community at large. PPCM currently sponsors traveling exhibits at the Space Foundation Discovery Center.
In order to spark a passion for life-long learning, PPCM focuses on hands-on, experiential exhibits and programs for children from birth through 10 years of age. In addition, PPCM works to provide a dynamic, engaging and fun educational environment, where children have the freedom and creativity to follow their innate desire to explore the world around them.
